Active Projects and Files

The Default view on the User Dashboard Shows All Active Projects
  • User data requests become projects once the data stewards/admins set them up
  • Select "Manage" to edit existing projects
  • Selecting "Start New Project" acts as a new data request
  • Typically, there will be a new project every time a new data request is made
  • Uploaded data are maintained on the site as long as the associated account or project remains active

New projects are set up the same way as a new data request.

Within existing projects there may be established folders;
however, there is always the ability to create new folders.

Project Details: Files and Messages

Within the Folder there are Files and Messages
  • Select "Add New File" to Upload Data
    • These files are maintained on the site as long as the associated account or project remains active. Maximum file size is 30 MB

  • Select an existing file to download existing uploaded data sets
  • Select "Add Message" to add any special instructions for the User or other Data Stewards involved with the project
- or -
  • Select existing messages to read special instructions left by the Data Steward or System Administrator

Project Details: Legacy Data Files

  • Legacy Files: Any data files associated with your user ID or data project are accessible from the main dashboard. This enables data stewards to reuse data sets that have been created before and avoid duplicative work.
  • Data Files for Download: It is helpful to leave a message for the User(s) and Data Stewards involved with any project completing a successful data transfer
  • Data Upload Files: Data Stewards need to confirm receipt of any data submissions received via email or messages through the application.

Pending Requests

User data requests are routed to this location. Any data subjects selected on the data request by the user determine which data stewards are notified of the request.
Available options include:

Edit or View Request

  • Edit allows the data steward, manager or system admin to make any corrections, or changes to the original data request prior to it becoming a project.
  • View allows the data steward, manager or system admin to view the details of any data request prior to it becoming a project.

  • Setup allows the data steward, manager or system admin to make any corrections, or changes to the original data request prior to it becoming a project.

  1. If the user is new and the organization is not in our system it is best to add the organization first.

  1. If there are no matching results verify the user's details and add the user/project to the system.
    • Adding the user automatically creates the project. Reference the active projects section of this guide for additional information on project management.
